Taken Beyond - Luke Freeman
Freemondo

Drawing from romantic and contemporary inspirations this improvisation attempts to delve into deeper, darker territory. Here my aim was to picture no-thing, a void, while performing. This leaves interpretation open to the listener as opposed to enforcing my own desires (pre-conceptualised well trodden paths) into the sound. I like to take seat as a listening entity with an open, non-judgmental mind and let the music play itself out. Thank you for listening. Home - Luke Freeman
Freemondo

An improvisation partially influenced by my recent barbershopping experiences in regards to harmonic devices (by use of 7th chords, also a few cheeky diminished 7ths too) and counterpoint. Always wanted to be able to play like this and it's finally starting to click into place. Having fun with the harmonies and forward moving melodies in this one :) I hope you enjoy! Performed on my Roland FP-7F digital piano and captured using Reason Picture form here --- I wish it was my fire place :P http://www.traditionalproductgalleries.com/pics/pb5453.jpg.jpg

Reaching Solidarity - Luke Freeman

I'd love to say this had a back story to it, just an improvisation after some tedious work with my grade 8 piano pieces! I'm striving for more continuity in my spontaneous music and I hope you can find it here! Enjoy :) Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ Performed on my Roland FP-7F and captured using Reason Picture from my holiday in Scotland on top of Cairngorm Mountain :)

Push - Luke Freeman

Latest jazz/contemporary explorations. The title, Push, was the first thing that sprang to mind when hearing this back. To push mind-made boundaries and to push towards new physical and emotional states. 3 Compositions, 1 Improvisation live set - So it's been a good 4-5 years since my last live performance/concert, back in high-school/6th form. It's good to get back out there again. Freemondo

Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ My latest recorded improvisation, exploring new harmonic devices! So Merry Christmas everyone! :D The piece is served with some Abstract Digital Artwork by San Base, someone whom I stumbled upon during my time at uni a few years ago, if you're into anything psychedelic check out his work! http://sanbase.com/index.html Performed on my Roland FP-7F digital piano and recorded using Reason

Silent Night Rag - Luke Freeman
Freemondo

Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ Here's my ragtime arrangement of Silent Night, submitted for the TPC Rainbow: Silent Night Challenge in The Piano Cloud Facebook group. The aim was to do your own take on Silent Night, but it had to be under 30 seconds (which I failed on that part lol!) Keep on the look out for the final track by David Barclay aka Barclaybunch. It will be a humongous 50+ person compilation of Silent Nights! Had loads of fun with this anyway and I hope I've not desecrated this classic for you too much! ;) Enjoy! :D There's sheet music available free of charge if anyone is interested in learning it, just pop me a private message with an e-mail address to send the PDF to :) Performed on my Roland FP-7F and recorded using Reason Photo from here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kfeyn/4560965745/

Last Memories (For TPC Swan Song Challenge) - Luke Freeman |WITH VIDEO! See description|
Freemondo

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Hope you enjoy :) Here's my submission for The Piano Cloud Swan Song Challenge. I feel I'm a much better improviser than composer, so my "final piece" is an improvisation to sum up what it all means to me. Looking back through my progression as a musician and at lifes highs and lows. I wanted it to be a little more special than my other improvisations, so I went out of my way to video record it too. If the world ends on the 20th December 2012, lets hope an extraterrestrial manages to download the entire contents of the internet beforehand! It'd be a shame to lose it lol!! ;) Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ Performed on my Roland FP-7F digital piano, recorded using Reason and video created using VideoPad Video Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The challenge guidelines set by Andrew Eales in The Piano Cloud Facebook group: "Suppose you only get to compose one final piece before the world ends ... Perhaps your "Swansong" - your final piece for posterity - would be the culmination of all your talent - one final masterpiece by which you hope to be remembered. Welcome to the Swansong Challenge! In this group please compose and submit *that* piece - something brand new in which you feel you bring together the most important lessons you have learnt about making music. This challenge is all about reflection - thinking about what it means for you to be a musician, and how best to express that in a single track. This is also a challenge in which you can try to surpass all you have done before, and produce your best ever track - that epic closing track for your big album!"

Late Hallowe'en - Luke Freeman
Freemondo

My compositional process is slow, first half was thoroughly worked through over a week or so and second half is what I came up with just this morning. Two sides of Hallowe'en, the fun and the scary ;) Better late than never! :) Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ Piano part recorded on my Roland FP-7F, the rest in Reason

Born Out Of Frustration - Luke Freeman
Freemondo

This improvisation certainly was born out of frustration. I'd managed to delete a previous improvisation by accident while I was saving it! So in my frustration I decided to record again searching for what I'd lost. This is quite different from my first improv today, but I managed to pull off a better result out of it, continuing explorations! Hope you enjoy! :) Like my Facebook page if you enjoyed this! facebook.com/freemondo8/ Performed on my Roland FP-7F digital piano and recorded using Reason I was going to use this... http://tymooreart.com/Frustration!%20copy.jpg but didn't for various reasons...
