Download/stream 'Salazar' hier: http://lnk.to/Salazar Leandro Da Silva and Kanu keep momentum rolling with ‘Salazar’ Leandro Da Silva and Kanu have both been on their musical journeys for a while, and now the two pair up for the huge ‘Salazar’. Leandro Da Silva has seen releases fall on the likes of Spinnin’ and Armada and has played at festivals such as Balaton Sound, while Kanu has made his name on labels such as Sosumi Records, and ‘Salazar’ highlights both artists’ considerable studio prowess and ability to lay down the highest quality beats. An upbeat chant and steel drum gives the track an immediate Mediterranean feel, while the drop sees a gliding melody take centre stage, floating and twisting with the start of each new bar. The main vocal is first heard midway through the track and makes the track stand out, all the while punctuated by risers and reverb throughout. Whilst Generation Smash’s ethos is centred around promoting new talent, Leandro Da Silva and Kanu are both artists who have enjoyed success, with previous tracks being played by the likes of Futuristic Polar Bears, Blasterjaxx, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Timmy Trumpet. Spearheaded by founders Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Smash Generation want to provide opportunities for a new breed of creators by plucking the finest emerging artists of today and help turn them into the stars of tomorrow! Th spawn of a new label under the STH banner is the brothers desire to match the passion and enthusiasm of the new generation of music lovers. Through Smash Generation, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will give artists a gateway to bolstering their career and rise through the ranks of the scene, forging strong and creatively-free careers in the music scene. Bringing all the capacity of an established label through the Smash The House team’s knowledge, experience and ability, this project is being launched to offer something fresh and specific to a new class of artists. Like Mike “ “Dance music has grown to become a worldwide entity now. Surely the biggest global youth movement ever?” Said Like Mike. “We’ve seen it with our own eyes that and experienced the biggest highs of what can be achieved”. Dimitri Vegas explains their thoughts adding; “So we want to open the door for other artists to realise their goals and ambitions. We feel in order to move a new generation forward you have to give back because from that support there can be growth.” The ambitions of Smash Generation are to tear down genre barriers and create an open format policy where the music of tomorrow becomes the music of the now. Not cocooning itself to any one sound or style the release schedule will be dictated by the quality of an artist’s music and not by the specifics of what genre or scene it fits into. Under the realm of the electronic dance music, Smash Generation will encourage artists to unleash their artistic flow and find their own voice and style within their music. Speaking about the Smash Generation label launch Dimitri Vegas commented: “Smash Generation is a venture into discovering talent from any walk of life. From our extensive global tours to the staggering number of high-quality demos we receive, we’re still baffled by the number of artists who are not being given a spotlight to shine under.” Like Mike added further to say, “Smash The House has grown to become a recording arm with significant label standing, both helping to launch the careers of many artists from Wolfpack to MATTN to releasing music featuring A-list names such as Steve Aoki, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, and Ne-Yo. But Dimitri and I felt it was time to carve another pathway for the innumerable artists from a wide span of genres that aren’t receiving a specific kind of support.” “Smash Generation plans to fill that void. We want to be an influencer for nurturing the talent of the future!” concluded Dimitri Vegas.
