Last Night On Earth

Praised for his genre-defying style, Valencia based artist AFFKT is an ambassador of melodic techno and contemporary electronic music of thousand faces. This EP for LNOE is a good example of his versatility and skills. “Assault” is rhythmically free flowing and sprawling, with synth melodies that evolve into rippling keys. No less catchy and sensorial is the sound provided on “Penjoll”. Narcotic and mysterious, but still a powerful and gripping journey which works perfect to set the mood of any mix. This 3-track EP is completed with a really unique flavour given by “Ippon”. On this cut AFFKT also detail his enthusiasm for experimenting with different melodies and electronic frequencies and how they affect our bodies and minds. A track laden with romance and retrowave 80’s synth wonderfulness. Emotive and danceable quality music.

Last Night On Earth

Newest signing to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth label, Henry Saiz, readies his ‘Appreciation’ EP. Two tracks that traverse the intricacies of melodic writing through explorative synthesis and delightful minimalism. Henry leads with ‘Iridiscent’. The monumental voyage begins with steady kicks and splashy, rolling tambourines providing the backbeat for an ominous synth exploration. The crisp leads contrast pounding toms in the breakdowns and develop through with slowly changing timbres. Fusing in uplifting harmonies to the complex web of interlocking synth lines, the genius of Henry’s writing comes from the amalgamation of different rhythmic patterns throughout this anthemic composition. ‘Voice of A Gentle Breeze’ follows, where modular synth grooves meet eastern influenced improvisational leads. Bright, fluffy drums steer the course while warm, trancey chord progressions bring the emotion. Trippy vocal lines drift atop, barely distinguishable and bring a haunting sense of melody and semantics with no needed lyrics, a genius touch to this delicate piece of music.

Last Night On Earth

The mighty Ejeca reveals his latest EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth. Hot off the heels of his chart-topping single ‘Ekstac’, the Belfast born groovemonger delivers yet again with this thought-provoking four-track EP. Kicking off with ‘Everglade’, where slow-building arpeggios set the pace for a dramatic combination of fluid sounds that bud and flower into a momentous dancefloor moment. Eastern flutes echo over rich synth chords and intricate drum patterns in a minimalistic yet awe-inspiring opening track. The heavyweight kicks of ‘Your Mind’ deliver the damage from the offset. Here Ejeca fuses in a heavily edited vocal line across a perplexing synth line and the two blend over the rhythms in a twist of blissful elation. ‘Artemis’ channels true techno ideals throughout its five-minute lifeline. The racing 808 hats and pounding toms roll across a vast chasm that paves the perfect path for the steadily building synth lines that drift in over the top. Final track ‘Diskord’ brings faster tempo rhythms where hard panning chords and a meaty kick drum offer a firm backbone for the trippy sonics that feature across this ingenious techno cut. Whispering French spoken word over a blisteringly crisp 909 drum groove fly in at lightspeed and leave absolutely no prisoners. Buy: https://lnk.to/LNOE121

Last Night On Earth

Stepping up next on the prolific Last Night On Earth label is rising Mexican talent Issac. Having been supported in the past by label founder Sasha, Guy Gerber and Dixon (to name just a few), it’s no surprise to see his hypnotic dancefloor tracks being released on LNOE. Issac begins the EP with ‘Clavel’, a percussive, driving track where stripped-back drum sounds combine their elegant pulses to form a complexity of entrancing polyrhythms. Crisp, rolling 909 Toms bring a sense of melody with their powerful tones while contrasting against shimmering ride cymbals and a firm, floor-filling kick drum. Before long, the expanse of drums breaks away for a truly euphoric uplift of oscillating synths and heroic vocal pads, forming a momentous drop, somewhere between classic trance and hard-hitting techno. ‘It’s An Extreme Life’ delivers more complex rhythms, where layers of recurrent guitar scratches congregate amongst twinkling bell sounds and trippy, glitched-out drum tops. The ten-minute composition builds gradually up to a minimalistic breakdown that exposes the harmonic rhythms of the track’s epicentre. Issac closes the record with ‘Rimel’, a fusion of acid-house era drum machines (like the infamous Roland TR-727 congas), blend amongst the nip-tuck-tight pulse of driving 4/4 kicks and swaying shaker loops. Fusing in anthemic synth lead lines and massive, echoing chord stabs, ‘Rimel’ closes the record with true harmonic bliss. Buy here: https://lnk.to/LNOE120
