Botswana
dhruvvisvanath

When I was little, I spent a short amount of time in Zambia. My father was in the hotel business and I was luck to have spent some time in such an extravagant part of the world. I don’t remember anything however, for I was 2 years old when I left. Any way, I wanted to write a song about my time there and in my quest to try to find a word to rhyme with Zambia, I couldn’t find anything, so I called the song Botswana instead.

Lost Cause

My album, my tours, my story for this album was all born from this one song. I had the chorus line ringing through my head for a really long time, and I couldn’t find a place for it in any of my songs. So I used the time to sit down and build a song from a 10 second idea. Through that process I found myself creating a piece which spoke of something that felt energizing. All these years I’d been writing music about stories, about experiences and I think this was the first time i’d written a song about myself. The song speaks of the need to go and find what makes you unique. That the surrounding voices, all the negative thoughts, it doesn’t matter so long as you feel strong enough to chase your dreams. Nothing is a lost cause, so long as you have something to chase. Lyrics: Darling Open your heart ache Over the sofa (It's time to let it out) Over, over the wonders Of all those ceilings (The wolves can hear me howl) So long So long I wonder Call of the wild comes (The forest never hides) Broken Shoulder to shoulder Fighting the darkness (The end of chasing lights) Chorus Find a lost cause x4 Darling When are you sober All of the children Have grown away How do How do I wonder Electrical failure I'm chasing light (Chasing light) Find a lost cause Credits: Music: Dhruv Visvanath Acoustic Guitar: Dhruv Visvanath Keys and Synth: Dhruv Visvanath Lyrics: Dhruv Visvanath Produced by: Dhruv Visvanath Recorded by: Dhruv Visvanath Mixed by: Keshav Dhar (Illusion Audio) Mastered by: Vivek Thomas (Vivek Thomas Productions) Artwork: Prashast Thapan Manager: Rajeev Rao © Dhruv Visvanath 2018

Summer (Original)
dhruvvisvanath

School breaks out, after a long year. I remember the times I grew up in Hong Kong and got to enjoy my childhood. I remember when I was innocent, when I was free of homework, when I traveled with my family and saw the world. This was my summer. Undoubtedly, Delhi summers are humid, tiring and rather long! However, all creative flames need a little bit of heat. For some reason, whilst listening to this song after I was done, I felt a little cooler, temperature wise (I like to think I am somewhat cool. Some may disagree, those people can measure the length of their pokemons.) I sincerely hope you enjoy this piece of music, let me know what you think in the comments, and if you really love the song, please do your bit and share it! All of the sounds you hear, are from the acoustic guitar and no other instrument. Much love, Dhruv

Winter (Original)
dhruvvisvanath

DO READ BEFORE LISTENING I wanted to write this as a series. Following from "rain", winter finally arrives. This is an account of how it felt when I saw, and experienced snow for the first time. I woke up one morning, my dad came running to tell me it was snowing. I looked out the window, and it was cold, very cold. I was really tired, as was my brother. So we went back to sleep, only to have my parents storm into our room and wake us up again. To our surprise we saw our backyard covered in snow. My brother and I got warm as quickly as we could and we stepped out and touched the snow, with gloves on obviously. This was all a week before my father passed away. I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to hear the story you feel as the song plays. Have a great year, Dhruv This is the original work of Dhruv Visvanath. Humble Bee
dhruvvisvanath

This is one of my mum's favourite instrumental tracks. I wrote this sing about a small fictional kingdom, which always gives a small gem everytime a child is born to symbolise how precious they are. And when Orion and Julius are born, the emperor of the kingdom, gives their mother 2 jewels, one for each child. The Rubies bestowed upon the children signified that they were to be hunters when they grew up. I wrote this song for my brother. Through this album, I wanted to tell the story of Orion, and how he became the constellation you see in the stars. This chapter tells the story of how Orion and his Brother, Julius bonded, growing up to be hunters. Their father, being proud of his two boys, groomed them into the finest hunters in the land. Orion grew stronger, as did his brother. But was this happy moment going to last? Lyrics Change your mind A million times A million miles And I accept What has become of you On this day A scary thought A feeling lost An SOS A path enlightening Saving grace Beneath the trees Away from here Away from the sun Away from the sun Away from the sun Chorus So let's waste The night away I'm testing I'm testing Out all the bends Your weakness Is irony I'm falling I'm falling over the edge You never seem To get away I know this I know that this is the end I know that this is the end It was the year, The time of lore The year stood still And nothing more It was 1994 It was the year After which he was born And I was left admiring Admiring the storm Saving grace Beneath the trees Away from here Away from the sun Away from the sun Away from the sun Bridge I keep listening now As you find your own way Keep these memories As you're starting to pray Chorus Song Credits:- Lyrics: Dhruv Visvanath Music: Dhruv Visvanath Vocals: Dhruv Visvanath Acoustic Guitar Arrangement: Dhruv Visvanath Electric Guitar Arrangement: Ashwin Nayar Bass Guitar Arrangement: Amar Pandey Drums and Percussive Arrangements: Ishaan Gandhi Tracked by: Viraj Mohan Mixed by: Keshav Dhar at Illusion Studios Produced by: Dhruv Visvanath, Keshav Dhar, Viraj Mohan Mastered by: Miles Showell, Abbey Road Studios UK Album: Orion Animations and Artwork: Prashast Thapan Label: V.L.T (Vishal Likes This) by Vishal Dadlani This is the Original work of Dhruv Visvanath.
