PREMIERE: Ultradyne - Suicide Relay (Pi Gao Movement)
DVS NME

It’s with great pride that I present the next premiere with the unveiling of a new release by iconic Electro group Ultradyne called 'Ocular Animus' via the Detroit-based label @Pi-Gao-Movement - As with all Ultradyne works, there is meaning in everything. 'Ocular Animus' delves into the mindset of humanity and breaks away from the usual EP format - Three tracks - five songs. This release explores the terraforming of humanity, seen through the eyes of the machinists as they look into the mirror at its underbelly. Solid rhythms, shifting beats, eerie synth lines splatter across the canvass of this new release feeding the beat-hungry and philosopher alike. Fear. Uncertainty. Hate. A glimpse of the possible future or the deconstruction of a paradigm. You decide if you like what you see. The track that I have chosen to debut is the second track on the EP and it is entitled ‘Suicide Relay’. Naturally, Detroit influences flow throughout the release however the influence really shines on ‘Suicide Relay’; One of the members of the group confirmed with me that the song was composed using an Electron A4 and a Make Noise DPO module and you can definitely feel the modular influence on this near-8 minute banger. Clocking in at 127, this track is almost effervescent in it’s attention to detail & change-ups with the voltage controlled oscillator module used in production. Slick synths and tight drum programming also pull you in and strap you down for the ride. This 3 track (five-song) vinyl will be available on July 9th. Dark Science Electro presents: Enfant Terrible guest mix
DVS NME

Today's 369th installment of DSE was originally aired on 6/22/2018 and was mixed by a two-person DJ team calling themselves https://soundcloud.com/enfantterriblenl - They are a duo DJ team. First, their focus was given to New Wave music but quickly moved on to EBM, Electro music, Minimal Wave, Industrial Music and other dark genres. Their sets tend to give equal attention to the genres they love however for the purposes of their appearance on Dark Science Electro, they have put together a special mix to fit the vision of @DarkScienceElectro - Dutch based independent record label, web shop, event organization and more via https://soundcloud.com/enfantterriblenl - Enfant Terrible is a Dutch label for electronic music and was founded in 2004 and is run by M. PREMIERE: 240 INTERCEPTOR - Welcome To Planet Suck (Les Disques Cockpit)
DVS NME

For the next premiere on @DarkScienceElectro we checked out a compilation by Belgian label @LesDisquesCockpit - This 4-year old label was born in the south of Belgium and over the years have released a handful of straightforward Electro/Techno artists like Holtz and Conducteur Fantome as well as compilation appearances by Alek Stark, Franck Kartell, Faceless Mind, FAH, Das Muster and others. This second compilation has a theme that references Laniakea, galaxy supercluster that is home to the Milky Way and approximately 100,000 other nearby galaxies. SUPERAMAS is a fine selection of pieces written by artists from all over the world, however, I have chosen to premiere a track by Swedish producer calling himself '240 Interceptor'. Anyone familiar with the Scandinavian scene know artists like Kan3da, Luke Eargoggle, and Johan Inkinen but may not have heard of 240 Interceptor. This talented, yet somewhat reclusive, producer has only one vinyl release to his name but has another full album on his Soundcloud account that comes highly recommended. This compilation is out now and is limited to 100 copies. PREMIERE: BinarySystem01 - Space Probes (Undersound Recordings)
DVS NME

For the next premiere, we have two Dutch producers (E8 and Wavemechanic) coming together, forming BinarySystem01 to bring you this slice of analog Electro. This 4-track EP consists of chopped up grooves blended with deep melodies and basslines reminiscing of the old-school Electro era. The track I selected is the most mechanical of the 4 and sonically references Breaks in the beat yet brings raw funky analog along for the ride. This vinyl was release at the end of March and is available now. Listen to clips here: https://soundcloud.com/undersoundlondon/sets/usr007-binarysystem01-quantum-theory-ep

DVS NME & Kelly Gilleran - Eyes Without A Face (Billy Idol cover)
DVS NME

My girlfriend Kelly and I have started a new project and we need your help naming the 'band'. The concept behind this project is going to be to cover all our favorite New Wave, Post Punk Affiliated tracks from the 80's. (Think The Cure, Joy Division, Siouxsie, Soft Cell, New Order, Depeche Mode, etc.) We are in need of a band name that reflects the project. - 80's New Wave COVER BAND with a female singer (and robot vocals) - A TWO PERSON project featuring one man and one woman - All covers will be executed in an Electro music style Please feel free to leave your ideas in the comments of the track. I will eventually be setting up a different Soundcloud account to host these tracks (as it is a completely separate project) once we have a name for the project. Thanks in advance to anyone who submits!

Dark Science Electro presents: Electric Eclectics (Volume Two)
DVS NME

“It’s with quite a bit of excitement that I present to you the second mix of a two-part mix series to celebrate the release of the new ‘Electric Eclectics’ box set from Fundamental Records. The first mix focused on the initial 18 records and this second mix is comprised of tracks contained outside of the first 18 records in the 21 record set. The second mix focuses on the other 3 records in the set that were left out of the first non-stop mix. 2 of the three records are various artists discs and the third is the very special Arpanet single exclusive to the box set. I have had the pleasure of working with @AlekStark over the years and he is, by far, the hardest working man in Electro music. It is my pleasure to be doing this in tandem with Alek and hope you all enjoy the mix.” - @dvsnme The foundations and the aim of this project are exactly the same of the 808 Box, but this time Alek Stark wanted to focus the attention on some of the artists who helped to build and develop the sound of modern Electro music. Consideration was also given the artists of present and the future of our beloved genre, Underground Electro Music. Electric Eclectics includes 21 high-quality vinyl records, mastered and cut at 45 rpm for the best sound and dynamics. Each of the first 18 records is dedicated to one artist, the other 2 are in advance of the second part of this project next year. This is more than 3 hours. Alek also always includes an extra record, this time Electro music master Arpanet, who will have a 7" vinyl record within the box set. This mix is about 53 minutes but the total length of the 21 records is almost 9 hours of pure Electro music. You do not want to miss this extremely limited release. The release can be purchased directly through the label website via www.fundamental-records.com/pre-order Clips for the solo records: www.fundamental-records.com/music

PREMIERE: Krypton 81 - Sonic Boom (Blind Allies)
DVS NME

For our 10th premiere we venture to Denmark to the city of Copenhagen to check in with the Electro duo @Krypton81 – Latvia-based label @BlindAllies brings us a new digital LP after a slew of successful vinyl releases and this digital-only release aims to please. This concept album brings us 10 new tracks that take the listener on a supersonic Electro-journey that pays memorial to the British/French turbojet that had a maximum speed over twice the speed of sound! This Electro duo may be new to you however they have been producing music under the alias since 2014 and have released with Pulse Drift Recordings, Bass Agenda, Subsonic Device, Nodezero Electronics and Elektrodos. Their influences range from the Post Punk stylings of My Bloody Valentine all the way to the obvious Electro godfathers Kraftwerk. They take great pride in their live performances and have shared the stage with Darxid, DJ Xed and Chocolate Noir. The track I have selected to debut is the fifth track on the album and it is called ‘Sonic Boom’. This snappy little number clocks in at 123 BPM and features a bubbly bassline, syncopated arpeggios and macabre pads. The digital release fits quite nicely in with the existing catalog of @BlindAllies and is available for pre-order now and will release officially on June 29th. Dark Science Electro presents: Datawave (live set)
DVS NME

For the next live set in our new series for @darkscienceelectro we travel to the Belgian capital of Brussels for a recorded performance by @Datawave – Influenced by local radio shows and well-organized series of underground parties in Belgium, Gaeten, then 17, quickly became an Electro enthusiast. In 2002 he started deejaying and shortly thereafter began composing his own sounds under the moniker @Datawave in 2010. The now 34 year old producer mainly uses Ableton, Reason and a Bass Station 2 to produce the music you will hear in this live set. Gaeten has since gained support from DJ’s like @dave-clarke-dj-sets, @dvsnme, @jensen-interceptor, @umek and others. In additional, he has shared the stage with the likes of @manasyt, @cosmicforce and RA-X. On a personal note, I have loved the music of @Datawave since stumbling on his Soundcloud account in early 2017 and am very excited to share this with you. His music draws on the sounds of Carl Finlow, @Anthony-Rother, Drexciya and Kraftwerk while still managing to build on the sound. This special live set was prepared exclusively for the @darkscienceelectro Live Set series and I hope you all enjoy the music of this future master just as much as I do. PREMIERE: Poperttelli - Assume (Maturre Records)
DVS NME

For the 9th premiere we move to French producer @Poperttelli via @Maturre Records - This vinyl release is a 6 track EP, juggling between Electro, Techno and Ambient tracks. Naturally I selected one of the two Electro tracks on the EP for the premiere. Poperttelli told me that he had to start preparing the EP quite a long time ago which explains the title of the release ’Theseus’Paradox’. This philosophical thought experiment of the ‘Ship of Theseus’ can be compared to the creative process in Art, Music, Cinema and so on. It creates questions about the identity of objects and their final forms, but in reality, there is no absolute answer. The track I have chosen to premiere is called ‘Assume’. Clocking in at 113 BPM, this haunting track creeps in a way that might just make you look over your shoulder to make sure you aren’t being followed. Beautiful pad-stabs and a driving arpeggio carry the track through it’s 4:29 run. The vinyl was released June 1st and is currently shipping within 7 days of order being recieved. PREMIERE: Imre Kiss & Norwell - Alpha Hertz (Crisis Records)
DVS NME

For the 8th premiere for @darkscienceelectro premieres, we focus on a brand new label called @crisis-records - The label’s inaugural release, Ad Astra, represents the fruits of a collaboration that has been a long time in the making. @imrekiss, fresh off the back of his evolutionary Strangers EP on Mörk, partners with compatriot @Norwell, who is following up a prolific 2017 – one in which @helena-hauff named his ODD EP her favorite record of the year. Crisis’ five-track debut is an exploration of mutual sonic interest: sci-fi narrative and analog dedication combine to reinterpret and evolve the blueprint electro it draws influence from. The track selected by me to premiere is entitled 'Alpha Hertz', a driving Electro track with a repetitious bassline, excellently balanced out by floating synth lines and fantastic percussive characteristics. This release is available for pre-order now and will launch in July on the 13th of the month. PREMIERE: Vertical67 - Unknown Territories (Vortex Traks)
DVS NME

For the seventh @darkscienceelectro premiere, we look to Berlin-based label @vortex-traks – The 9th release from the label comes to us from a producer calling himself Vertical67 - Vertical67 has been releasing a steady amount of tracks on EP’s and albums on labels like brokntoys, Photic Fields, Lunar Disko, 100 % Silk and Magic Waves. Not bound to one genre at all, Vertical67’s music often fuses elements of Electro, Acid, IDM, Techno and Ambient into his own unique take on electronic music. In 2015 he co-founded his own label with his partner @Naks called Vortex Traks. Recently he released the Friction EP on Mechatronica’s digital sub-label. The ‘Out Of The Void’ EP is his second release on Vortex Traks after the Crystalline EP, which was released in 2016. The track selected by me from his upcoming release is entitled ‘Unknown Territories’. The closing track of the vinyl is a personal favorite of mine due to its dramatic pads, melancholy leads combined with phased hi-hats and solid drum-programming. The full release is available for pre-order now with a tentative release date of June 20th. Find all the details below. PREMIERE: Binaural - Machine (Dream Ticket Recordings)
DVS NME

For the fifth premiere we focus on a new label called https://soundcloud.com/dreamticketrecordings - This Portuguese label is just two vinyl releases into their tenure with one from https://soundcloud.com/binarydigit and the second effort coming from https://soundcloud.com/binaural-1. This premiere draws from the 6 track EP entitled ‘Mescla’ which is released June 15th, 2018 and is available for sale now at the link below. The track selected by me to debut is called ‘Machine’ and boy does the name do it justice. This song gushes with machine funk, clocking in at 140 BPM, it will absolutely get you moving if you have a pulse. Binaural has been releasing music under this moniker since 2005 with releases on https://soundcloud.com/scsi-av, https://soundcloud.com/undersoundlondon and Djax-Up-Beats.
