EATBRAIN

//artist @jadednb facebook.com/JadeSounds/ //label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbrain_now Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public. Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city. The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Following on from the much-acclaimed AWAKE EP, Jade powerfully demonstrates that he’s back in the studio and putting his veteran knowledge of what functions on the Eatbrain dancefloor to effective use. Delivering two fresh, tech-infused DnB bangers, along with a faster tempo VIP of fan favourite MAN EATING LIZARD DRAGON, as well as a further strut in the unfolding genre mechanism of slow and meaty neuro in SPY CAR, the PROPAGANDA EP delivers the Eatbrain manifesto in exquisite form. Full of the energy and spirit that’s driven the label to dizz heights, this is an unmissable chapter in both the imprint and the label boss’s journey. //release date 17.09.2018 Beatport & Spotify excl. 01.10.2018 worldwide

L 33 - Stone Cold (Eatbrain065)
EATBRAIN

//artist @l-33-1 facebook.com/L33music/ // label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbra1n They say crime doesn’t pay, but that’s a lie worthy of its own criminal charges. Of course, I don’t mind seeing it perpetuated. It keeps the weak out of the game, and there’s a certain panache to be gained from playing into the stereotype. Cat burglars and the like can have their fancy airs, with all their focus on agility and grace, but me? I like to keep things simple. Someone important once said “speak softly, and carry a big stick,” and I hold to that, though I find a bit of roughness to mine adds to the image. The classic approach is effective, the image of a someone like myself wrapped in shadow, weapon in hand and clad in dark clothes. It’s an act made all the better with audience participation however, so the character you want to play from there is up to you. The stage may be set but the script can go in oh so many directions. I suppose it just means I’m good at what I do, but the disappointing fact is that I rarely even get to use my full kit. A funny thing really, most people just tend to fling their valuables at me when I’m the only one around. A charitable donation on behalf of my excellent performance, perhaps it should be considered, though I find most of these performances to be quite a bore. After all, any good plot needs at least a little tension before its resolution. Some try to run, and that’s at least a slight improvement, but it’s best when they try and fight back, like the two at my feet. It’s an almost tangible feeling, an aura exuded by those with an excess of both wealth and confidence, an attitude perhaps not dissimilar to my own. After all, they’re often criminal too. If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that you don’t get rich without breaking a few bones, whether physically or metaphorically. This is doubly true if you’re young, like these two. Knowing when to lose is a wisdom that comes with age, a wisdom apparently not yet possessed by this pair even amongst their myriad of other possessions. So, when it came time for me to collect, they stood their ground… One even drew a weapon of their own, as if to threaten me! I savoured the moment, for this was the tension I relished. The palpable exhilaration ran through me as we stared down the alley at one another. I struck, rushing forwards and reaping my rewards with two great swings of my club, a shower of their shiny valuables shaken loose for such an excellent performance. In taking a bow, as is customary for any self respecting performer, I collected my due. They crime doesn’t pay, but for those of us who are STONE COLD, perhaps it’s untrue. EATBRAIN veteran L 33 returns to his home label in truly violent style with the STONE COLD EP, also featuring hard drum and bass pioneer LIMEWAX. With the 5 tracks within, L 33 pushes further towards an evolved version of his sound than ever before, with each slice of audio delivering a unique and sleek tech-fuelled idea designed to slam hard into the dance. Surprising in many ways and exactly as technically refined as one should expect of him, the STONE COLD EP delivers exactly the kind of forward-thinking drum and bass that we crave from both artist and label. //release dates 05.09 - Beatport Exc 17.09 Worldwide

//artists @telekinesis facebook.com/telekinesisdnb/ @jadednb facebook.com/JadeSounds/ //label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbra1n //release date 20th August 2018 (Beatport, Spotify exclusive) Their status as elite was undeniable, a twin humanoid team paired with the heavily armed hybrid, all of them augmented with cutting edge wetware and black-ops endtech. Gazing over the wasted metropolitan landscape of the old capital of this dead-end planet, they activated their internal dataspikes carrying their encrypted tasks and poured over the contents // RETRIEVAL - HIGHER LEVEL SONIC WEAPONRY WITH CAPITAL DESTRUCTION CAPABILITIES - COORDINATES TRANSMITTED & EMBEDDED IN SUB-SURFACE NEURAL LAYER // The subnotes indicated its capacity to disintegrate entire buildings with a highly focussed emission of intense articulated resonant frequencies. Looking around, evidence of this was clear, with gaps in the broken skyline, where the great towers of this city’s ruling megacorp once stood. Heaps of fine grey sand lay in their place, the result of the device’s terrible effect - reducing them to base states of entropy. The hybrid scanned the barren landscape with its ocular implants, marking the coordinate location in the team’s HUD systems and rapidly switching through the various optical spectrums of its threat detection system. They set forward determinedly, moving quickly through the ruins that remained, closing the distance to the objective quickly. They moved in deathly silence, their steps masked by phase cancellation pads in their boots, allowing even their hulking hybrid companion to move as a quietly as the whisper of death on the fringe of the wind. They took position upon the upper floor of a broken building, looking out upon the crater in which the device rested. The rival merc crew that was working with frenetic pace below to detach the weapon from its housing were basic operators, their heat signatures highly visible and open radio comms, real amateurs. Without a word, the trio dropped down from the vast height, the air moving over them without resistance as their suits excited and repelled the molecules that moved against them. Touching down in silence, their ruthless assault began - shouldering his chaingun, the team’s EM specialist rained a hail of fire upon their rivals with ruthless precision, each shot locked and guided to their mortal marks by the EM signals produced by the weapons of his very targets. His partner moved quickly from cover to cover, his implants working furiously, hijacking the soldiers senses and systems, disabling them and making them easy targets for the hybrid - charging furiously forward, devastating their ranks with its impossible strength. In mere seconds, the bustling center of activity at the crater lay suddenly silent. Without pause they passed through the carnage and approached the device, and gazed at the warning roughly scrawled on its surface ‘BEWARE!”. The powerful drum and bass duo - TELEKINESIS - return for their 3rd EP - BEWARE! - on seminal tech label EATBRAIN. Their insertion of their latest spike of polished sonics sees the pair teaming up with label boss JADE, as well as one of the imprint’s embedded voices, NUKLEAR MC. With 4 tracks of weighted neural technology, designed to devastate both senses and the dancefloor, Telekinesis demonstrate slickly why they are renowned for consistent and poised sound system assaults. Expect the 4 slices of dirt within to leave a trail of shock and awe across the festival landscape of the Summer and beyond.

EATBRAIN

//artist @zombiecatsofficial facebook.com/zombiecatsofficial/ //label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbrain_now The mass of supplicants prostrated just beyond its twisted paws, their pathetic mewling pleasantly caressing the towering feline fiend’s ears as they expressed their divine agony. Drinking up the delicious earmilk of their pain, it reclined languidly in its glorious pedestal; a mass of flesh and sinews with the fine carved bones from the countless many condemned to this realm of eternal torment. Its three eyes rolled apathetically to fall upon one particular beggar, drained of almost all remaining life from her years pennance, spent at the foot of the infernal throne, worshipping the glory of pain in all its truth and crying for salvation. The utter futility of this endeavor suddenly dawned on the great cat, as the constancy of myriad calls made for escape fell upon his ears at once. Suddenly annoyed by this ever-present sound, he reached out, spearing the pathetic being before him with a claw and flinging her from into rock and into the depths of the molten river below. His eyes watched her form ignite and fade in the heat, her soul joining others to be swept into its current on a journey to be reborn as pitiful lesser devils elsewhere in the plane. How benevolent an act, the cat thought to itself, freeing the pitiful creature from her suffering for a brief moment and more even - giving her the opportunity of such an esteemed metamorphosis. Even though the pathetic fiend she would be reborn as would hold not even a candle to his own magnificence, it would still be a marked improvement against the limits of her prior flesh. Sated by his own thoughts, he leaned forward once, rotating his vast ears to better drink in the fresh desperate energy of the remaining supplicants. Its hideous mouth opened to a wide, sharp smile, revealing cruelly serrated fangs that shone unnaturally with a umbral hue. “A reward for my benevolence,” he thought as he plucked the nearest wretch from the rock with a single talon, his pupils sharpening with focussed malevolence as he tossed them into his fur-lined maw. Satisfied, his hunger temporarily sated, there was but one thing left to do. He would take a nap. The ZOMBIE CATS return to the label that set the fire on their ferocious project back in 2014, placing them on a fierce trajectory of furiously kinetic releases that have brought them to the present, their most pointed assault on the eardrums yet with the WORLD’S END EP on EATBRAIN. With the title track tearing out of the mouth of hell with slower bpm but highly charged energy, further establishing the newly forming neurowave genre, the cats make a bold statement from the outset. Also featuring 2 intense collaborations with masters of their art ABIS and MALUX, alongside 3 further astounding intensely fresh solo cuts, the WORLD’S END EP is a welcome return for one of tech dnb’s most respected duo’s, on one of the genres most consistent labels. The end is here, and it’s one hell of a ride. //release date 8th August Beatport & Spotify excl. 22nd August worldwide
