Here's the beginning of my new solo piano album "Dreaming". Relax your body, Reflect on your life and Renew your soul. Enjoy this free download sample.
I went for a run several weeks ago to my in law's home. I sat down at their piano, randomly flipped open the bible and this is what God led me to... Pretty crazy how I was led to this passage. It was even more crazy that they were at their new Island getaway in Hawaii, it goes right with this chapter. The text I am reading from is Eugene Peterson's version of Psalm 32, the message. Powerful little passage.
In Christ Alone In Christ alone, my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My comforter, my all-in-all Here in the love of Christ I stand There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
This one came to me today after lunch. As i sat down at the piano I just played what i felt, thinking about how this little journey we're all on has VERY LITTLE to do with us. I thought more about it and the music just started to flow out of me. I was reminded how am, (how we all are) COMPLETELY dependent on God. There are no words as of now... kinda hard to describe without sounding "weird", but even though there are no audible words I really believe that God heard the words to what i was playing. Anyways, hope you enjoy.
One of my favorite things to do is sit down at the piano, right after I put our 5 kids down for bed, and play whatever comes to mind. Usually the tune played lives for 5 minutes or so in the the ears of those under our roof, never to be heard again. The songs are often incomplete and always full of mistakes... well here's to throwing one of those out into the open. Here's one I will call "Real". This is the first time thru... the last time thru.
This is my solo piano arrangement of the Christmas Classic, We Three Kings. Just arranged it this morning, still a work in progress. Please share the free download.
My Arrangement of a Christmas Classic. Daniel Zambrano joins me on Cello.
I sat down at the piano this morning and this came out. It has been flowing thru my head for several months but I don't think I have ever recorded it. It's a song of thanksgiving... An outpouring of thanksgiving to God for extension of His grace in my life... It's my desire to Live this life as a "Thank You" to God... I think that would bring a smile to His face!
This is one of my favorite songs and my version of Matt Redman's "10,000 Reasons" also known as "Bless the Lord O my soul".
We've recently been having a difficult time with our "on hold" music provided thru our phone service at Wildman... This is my go at it. I wrote this song "My LIfe in Pictures" last year while spending some time away. Hope you like it!
This is my submission for TPC "Children's Song" Competition. I arranged this very familiar classic as a reflective contemplative piece that will soon serve as background music for a Pro-Life video I will be working on. Hope it caused you to think. Jeff
Sat down at the keyboard tonight for the first time in a month and this song just came to me tonight... This is my first attempt at getting it out of my head. Still a work in progress... aren't we all. The photo is also from tonight, my son Colt. This picture is not inverted, I took it from underneath at the peak of his back swing.
Last night around Eleven I went down stairs and started playing the keyboard... before I knew it I found myself developing this wedding march. The more I played the more overwhelmed I became. I hope this simple "March" serves as a reminder for you and I... Marriage is an Adventure... Not a walk thru the park. It's commitment... Not a shot in the dark. It's a March... Not a skip or a jog. A growing tree... not cut off like a log It's LOVE... Both to give and to hold. True Love... While we're young... growing old. Thanks for listening!
Alright, So... I don't like vampires but there are two songs in the movie Breaking Dawn that are absolutely beautiful... I just learned this one and recorded it tonight. Hope you enjoy!
Birthdays...They come and go like a note un-sustained, lost in the busy song of life. This "Happy Birthday" arrangement as well as my cover of "100 Years" by Five for Fighting, was embedded in my mind last night after spending the evening at a fund raising event benefiting a camp for kids with cancer and their siblings. It was a powerful night and reminded me once again how great full we ought to be for today. Wrote this one while on a family retreat the beginning of February. Looking for a title. This song went so well with the photos we took I decided to give it a name to encourage others to use it for the same. Hope you enjoy!
This is rough Work in Progress, Written for my amazing wife Jennifer. One of those nights when it just came to me. Thought I'd share the raw start with you guys! Needs strings. Thanks for listening!
