Campfire Stories 72 (Through Time) by Jacopo
Silent Season

Campfire Stories 72 (Through Time) by @jacopo_s ~ About The Story ~ The river winds in from distant lands With merciless power it turns stone to sand Through its mysterious life, the very earth it commands And Yet the fearful river still runs through our hands. In torrents of furry where the deepest currents flow The rivers wild waters surge with woe. For Onward, forever, its destined to go A permanent home it won't ever know. The river runs from each of us As a refugee of fear, It knows in a blink it will be somewhere else Its waves are really its tears. It runs from the audacity Of the selfish human mind As Its massive life capacity, Of flora and fauna combined, Are threatened by our antics and helpless to our crime So the river runs on their behalf, from everyone, in time- even within its whitecap foam Water's yearning for a home So roam does the water- endlessly, till its long gone out of sight The essential droplets of the river- Nomads day and night. - Heavy Hearted ~ Chapters ~ Ground Tactics - Time Crystal Material Objekt - Sagittarian James Lewin - Drone 05 RSE - Beyond The Yellow Spotted Bamboo RSE - Watery Grave Iury Lech - Postmeridiano Trisomie21 - Your Drem (edit) Ultrafog - OIO Dj Nobu - Zzzz Isorinne - Gazing at the Ghosts of the Night Sky Purl - Red Islands Mika Vainio - Ilta Intelligent Chaos - Untitled #1 Black Rain - Black Mother Kali Gandaki Navicon Torture Technologies - Genuflection RSE - Bidgetown Mark Van Hoen - Past Glories Bowery Electric - Postscript Seefeel - Rupt Bowery Electric - Beat Autocreation - Dark Smile Mark Van Hoen - Tales Significant Other - Triptan Yves Tumor - Limerence Ana Roxanne - In A Small Valley Susumu Yokota - Waters Edge ~ Notes ~ Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season. Campfire Stories 69 (Doors of the Temple) by @ataxia_infernale ~ About The Story ~ "Many are the doors of the spirit that lead Into the inmost shrine: And I count the gates of the temple divine, Since the god of the place is God indeed. And these are the gates that God decreed Should lead to his house: - kisses and wine, Cool depths of thought, youth without rest, And calm old age, prayer and desire, The lover's and mother's breast, The fire of sense and the poet's fire. But he that worships the gates alone, Forgetting the shrine beyond, shall see The great valves open suddenly, Revealing, not God's radiant throne, But the fires of wrath and agony." ~ Chapters ~ Warmth - Anchorage Saphileaum - Unreleased [Annulled Music] Hotel Neon - Vanishing Forms - The Time Between Midnat - Landskab - Landskab 3 Martin Allin -Yasmin Martin Allin - Another begins v2 Warmth - Home - Isolation Pepo Galán - Strange Parentheses - Barco Amor (Naufragio) Saphileaum - Unreleased [Annulled Music] Martin Allin - Your father and nature v5 Hotel Neon - Vanishing Forms - Burning Mist David Cordero - Hacia La Luz - Habitación 218 Martin Allin -again over and over again (ambi rythm) v2 Araceae - Resonance Of The Absolute - Tempelhof Anthéne - Lost Channel - Streams Midnat - Landskab - Landskab 4 Martin Allin -Homeostasis friend weather (ambient fx) Saphileaum - Unreleased [Annulled Music] Warmth - Home - Hivern (Hotel Neon Remix) Warmth - Home - Waves (Purl Dub Remix) Martin Allin - 8. Segue ~ Mirage [SSCD23]
Silent Season

Silent Season is proud to present Segue's third full-length LP with the label. On his new album, Jordan Sauer explores a new facet of West Canadian natural history. Four thousand years ago, Western Canada's First Nations people migrated into the fjords and rainforests carved out by the retreating glaciation of the last Ice Age. The Island is a tribute to Canada's prehistory and the spiritual journey of a people entering a forever-altered landscape to call their home. While Segue's last album very much explored a cross section journey of British Columbia from the mountains to the sea, The Island explores the hidden coastlines and inlets that pepper a still-mysterious landscape, fragile in its uniqueness and isolation. The album features new tricks on full display in addition to the signature, instantly recognizable sounds of Segue's music. "Mirage" goes full post-rock at the end with a gliding climax of guitar over a gorgeous pad of dubby synths. "Beacon Point" swings like a stone skipping on the glassy surface of a hidden lake in the Strathcona Region. "Desolation Sound" features an almost-acid synth line that weaves in and out like the interlocking patterns on a Salish cedar basket. Throughout the album, each song spreads out beautifully as a reflection of the place or thing it's named after and paints a stunning portrait of BC's natural wealth. At first glance it seems like a tourist's guide, but when you listen deeper, The Island blossoms into something deeply personal and moving–a sonic imprint of places in relation to culture. One listen will put you right on a remote Island in the wilderness, surrounded by ancient trees and stories from generations long forgotten. The album features an analogue mix down and mastering on tape through a Studer A80, ½ inch tape machine by Stefan Betke of Scape Mastering. The Island is available on limited editions 2x12" black vinyl, CD, and digital formats. @segueambient - The Island [SSCD23] Summer 2019 01. Sunrise over Malaspina 02. Shore Breeze 03. Mirage 04. Campfire Stories 66 (Alchemical) by Grant Aaron (Mysteries of the Deep)
Silent Season

Campfire Stories 66 (Alchemical) by Grant Aaron (Mysteries of the Deep) ~ About The Story ~ Alchemical An organism glows in this dark, dark room. The light finds the cracks in the walls and stretches its languid arms to enclose us, to hold us against its vital pulse. Tethered to a vibration both familiar and unknown, we are sent towards a portal before we are spit back into day— kept close until the night is done. The heartbeat of the creature then dissipates like cloud, is alchemically transformed, shifts shapes like the shadow of fire then finds its way into our chests. We carry our secrets within them like lead, lead that wants to be turned into gold. It’s only a matter of time before our chests are unlocked. When we open each other up, what’s underneath spills out, and it is then that we remember the pulse never left – it only hid itself beneath our wrists, our lungs. By the end we’ve lost the map and know there’s no way back: the person we were before succumbs to the person we’ve become. - Taylor Bratches ~ Chapters ~ This set was recorded live at Return to the Source: No Way Back @ Tangent Gallery Detroit, Outer Space Room -- Sunday May 26, 2019. Campfire Stories 64 (Olinda) by Alex Albrecht
Silent Season

Campfire Stories 64 (Olinda) by Alex Albrecht @melquiadesmusic ~ About The Story ~ A free bird leaps on the back Of the wind and floats downstream Till the current ends and dips his wing In the orange suns rays And dares to claim the sky. But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage Can seldom see through his bars of rage His wings are clipped and his feet are tied So he opens his throat to sing. The caged bird sings with a fearful trill Of things unknown but longed for still And his tune is heard on the distant hill for The caged bird sings of freedom. The free bird thinks of another breeze And the trade winds soft through The sighing trees And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright Lawn and he names the sky his own. But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream His wings are clipped and his feet are tied So he opens his throat to sing. The caged bird sings with A fearful trill of things unknown But longed for still and his Tune is heard on the distant hill For the caged bird sings of freedom. - Maya Angelou ~ Chapters ~ Exclusive live improvised set by Alex Albrecht ~ Notes ~ Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season. Campfire Stories 61 (Orakei Korako) by Valentino Mora
Silent Season

Campfire Stories 61 (Orakei Korako) by @valentinomora ~ About The Story ~ Orakei Korako “Place of Adorning” on the banks of the Waikato River, the ukaipo (birthplace) and principal papakainga of Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa. Tahu Matua travelled the lands in the rohe; it is here he placed himself. The area was abundant in kai sources, geothermal resources and in an ideal location situated on the banks of the Waikato River. Orakei Korako has been an important settlement site of Ngati Tahu for many generations. The settlement of Orakei Korako consisted of a fortified pa on the left bank above the river and a living area on the flats beside the river amidst the geysers and hot pools. Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa has a historical, cultural and contemporary association with geothermal resources within our traditional rohe. Such resources were used for cooking, drinking, bathing and healing. Large kainga and cultivations were often established around these taonga such as at Orakei Korako, Ohaaki and Waiotapu. The geothermal landscape has changed over time, but the geysers, hot springs, bubbling mud pools and silica terraces remain within the geothermal park. Our taonga have cultural significance to our iwi, and under our care we ensure to remain kaitiaki of our whenua, natural resources and taonga. As kaitiaki ensuring to protect and restore this area is important to Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa. ~ Notes ~ Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season. Campfire Stories 60 (Inner Sanctum) by Coxone (@coxonespaziotempo) ~ About The Story ~ In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. So twice five miles of fertile ground With walls and towers were girdled round; And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills, Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery. But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover! A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing, A mighty fountain momently was forced: Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail, Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher’s flail: And mid these dancing rocks at once and ever It flung up momently the sacred river. Five miles meandering with a mazy motion Through wood and dale the sacred river ran, Then reached the caverns measureless to man, And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean; And ’mid this tumult Kubla heard from far Ancestral voices prophesying war! The shadow of the dome of pleasure Floated midway on the waves; Where was heard the mingled measure From the fountain and the caves. It was a miracle of rare device, A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice! A damsel with a dulcimer In a vision once I saw: It was an Abyssinian maid And on her dulcimer she played, Singing of Mount Abora. Could I revive within me Her symphony and song, To such a deep delight ’twould win me, That with music loud and long, I would build that dome in air, That sunny dome! those caves of ice! And all who heard should see them there, And all should cry, Beware! Beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair! Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread For he on honey-dew hath fed, And drunk the milk of Paradise. - Samuel Taylor Coleridge ~ Notes ~ Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season.
