Out now on Beatport https://www.beatport.com/release/all-said-and-done/2347997 Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release is a label debut from Irish producer Mark Greene. Mark Greene has been building up his reputation following releases on Spektres Respekt, Steve Mulders Orange, Oscar Aguileras HE-ART, A.Pauls Naked Lunch and Hollens Prospect. Already a popular DJ on the Irish club scene playing regular gigs in Dublin and other parts of the country, the success of his productions has lead to international gigs playing in places like Germany, Austria, Holland, Lithuania and Poland. With a hard hitting style influenced by the likes of Dave Clarke, The Advent and Richie Hawtin, this release showcases what he is all about and why he has caught the attention of Carl Cox. First on the release is All Said & Done which has a rolling groove, rumbling bassline and dark atmosphere. With a punishing intensity and the menacing sound of epic pads, the track's female vocal stabs cut through the building intensity to release the pressure with uplifting bursts. Fast and furious, this is peak time techno that takes no prisoners. Track two What's Good? is on the same vibe as the first but with hints of acid and prominent clap rhythms it takes things up a gear. Mechanical hi-hats and ominous synths make this robust sounding cut have a huge presence on a dance floor. Engulfing all who hear it, this is a peak time techno masterpiece which every DJ needs in their arsenal.

File under: (G)old sounds. New label @seven-hills-records starts life with a reissue compilation of tracks first released on the tantalisingly fleeting UK label Nation of Noise in the early 90s. Nation of Noise was forged when vocalist Jon ? Martin and producer Django struck up a partnership after meeting at beloved Soho spot The Brain. Three collaborative EPs arrived on the imprint under three different aliases in as many years. Seven Hills picking out prime cuts from each EP for the 'Nation of Noise 91 - 93' reissue and fully remastering them marks digging of the highest order, pulling together a collection of tracks that have a prescient-yet-classic feel that's well worthy of updated attention. 'Elvis Stole My Space Hopper' from the Super Bubble project was favoured by champions of all things cutting-edge Colin Faver and Colin Dale on KISS FM back in the day, and 25 years later we're banking on its magnetic take on low-slung acid house thrilling a new generation of ears. Out September 28, pre-order it here: https://www.phonicarecords.com/product/nation-of-noise-seven-hills-present-nation-of-noise-91-93-seven-hills/154337

  • Noir ft Cari Golden - Done (Original Mix) - Noir Music

In the late 80s I started listening to UK radio stations when I was a little kid and I instantly fell in love with the acid sound and rave movement that was portrayed on those UK dance shows. When I got old enough to attend clubs and warehouse raves, to experience the movement first hand, it was a no- brainer for me that the music and the lifestyle was my call. Lately.... in my dj sets and when producing music... I have been time travelling back to those days. Back to how I remember the music I fell so deeply in love with and that is exactly what you hear on this “Done/Undone” release. For the “Done” track I teamed up with Cari Golden to have a female spoken word and a great message to build the music around. I always prefer to do original vocal recordings rather than using samples. Cari understood 100% what I was after and I love the lyrics and execution by her. The spoken word is centered, very clear and deep to contrast the constantly building intensity of the acid patterns and thumping beats. This is my take on the sound I fell in love with years ago and obviously still love today. I hope you like what you hear. - NOIR

  • Dekmantel Podcast 196 - Lawrence Le Doux

Lawrence le Doux is impossible to pin down. The Belgian has been beating his own path since the nineties under a range of different guises. His latest album Host—following a soundtrack on Hivern Discs and years of everything from rap to hardcore to ambient—came on his home label Vlek and was an embodiment of the last 30 years of electronic music in his homeland. From digital dub to house to industrial, it covers plenty of ground in authentic style and made for a fascinating listen. Over more than eighty minutes here, he serves up an equally kaleidoscopic mix filled with beautiful moments. It’s a late night affair that takes in ambient house, trippy 5am techno, dubbed out grooves, beguiling broken beats, trance, afro and plenty in between. Transitions feel natural and coherent even if, on paper, they shouldn’t. It’s a mix that comprehensively proves Lawrence le Doux’s understanding and knowledge of electronic music runs deep.

𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 | Farrago created a name for himself in this short time taking back the real roots of techno and rave and putting them in a new context... we said new, not different. This is his 3rd record on the label, and this time he goes beyond the idea of reminiscing the past, “Hard Light” shows how the rave can be alive in everyone of us, and absolutely not changing the formula he gives us this beautiful feeling of being back in the past, while you dig in a record shop and you find something that hits you, in our past was that record that gave us memories. In this case the work of this record is almost double, the record itself reminisces the past, but gives good hope for the future of genuine rave music without compromises.
